Commercial

As each commercial job is very different, please do get in touch to discuss your particular needs so I can quote accurately.

Once the shoot is finished I aim to get the pictures ready for you within a few days to a week. If you need them quicker then let me know. I always do a low resolution web gallery to show clients the pictures, I upload this to my company website and give you a link to it.

You will get a DVD / CD rom with the pictures on, this contains both a high resolution and medium resolution folder on it for your usage, I can also include the low resolution images from the web gallery if you would like.

Copyright: Clients have exclusive usage rights to all pictures taken for one year, after which this reverts to the photographer. As with all elements, this can be negotiated to suit you.

Please get in touch for a quote.

Important things to be aware of

Resolution

I generally set the resolution at 300dpi, at around 5000px (pixels) to 6000px high or wide for high resolution and around 2500px for medium resolution.

Here is a rough guide to which size to choose for different uses:

High Res - average file size 10-16mb jpg

High quality print - brochures, magazines

Anything which the picture is reproduced larger than a few centimetres in size

Billboards & exhibition stands (request the resizing service to prepare for either of these)

Anything in which the designer wants to zoom into the picture to grab details.

Medium res - average file size 600k jpg

Press pictures

Images to send to clients / colleagues for reference

Pics to e-mail to print if the print size is fairly small (a few centimetres)

Newspaper images - unless printing full page

Website usage - to send to a designer (they may request bigger too)

Always let people know that you have bigger versions of the images so they have the choice to request higher res versions.

Low Resolution - average file size 50k jpg

Under no circumstances should these be sent to print as they are intended to be very low in quality for reference purposes only.

Other Aspects

Extra CDs

If you need extra CDs to send to others, these are charged at £8 and can be ordered at any time - including years after the shoot.

Photo Manipulation

I am trained in Photoshop to a high level and can alter your images in many ways - perhaps a prop such as a cup is the wrong colour in a pic - it is possible to swap the colour over convincingly. Let me know if you need this service.

File Format

I send images to clients as JPG format - you can choose to receive TIFF images if you like.

DPI - Dots per inch (ie quality of print)

I normally process images at 300 DPI - just let me know if you require a different amount.

Colour Profiles

Background: Printing presses use colour profiles to recognise what colours make up the images. This colour profile is attached to each image.

For ease of use, I normally process in sRGB (which is a basic profile) as this allows the greatest number of monitors to view it properly - let me know if you would prefer Adobe RGB 1998 or other colour profiles as I am aware it allows the colour range to broaden.
